Jose Aleman

I am trained as a physician-investigator. Using my background as a biomedical engineer, I trained at MIT to assess substrate metabolism using state-of- the-art methods to follow tracers as they moved into various cellular compartments. This was part of a program at Harvard Medical School leading to combined M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Thereafter, I completed my clinical training in internal medicine and then endocrinology at Weill Cornell Medical Center. During the final years of this training, I entered the Clinical Scholars Program and initiated a research program with Jan Breslow at Rockefeller University.
